For 100 summers...

Camp Waldemar has been a place of growth, tradition, and lifelong friendships along the banks of the Guadalupe. Founded in 1926 by Ora Johnson, Waldemar has shaped generations of young women who have carried its spirit into the world. As we celebrate this milestone, we honor our past and look ahead to the future—commemorating a century of adventure, sisterhood, and timeless memories in the Sea of Woods.

Our Mission

To provide a wholesome and fun atmosphere where each girl can grow, spiritually, mentally, and physically in becoming her finest self.

Our Camp and Hill Country Community

The weeks since the July 4th flood in Kerr County have been filled with a loss and grief that words simply cannot express. It has shaken our community, and all of Texas, to its core and changed our beloved Hill Country forever.

The safety and protection of our campers has always been, and will remain, our top priority. As such, Waldemar applauds lawmakers for their diligence and commitment to safeguarding the well-being of children across our great state by passing Heaven’s 27 Camp Safety Act (SB 1).

For more than a century, camper well-being has guided every decision at Waldemar. Our founder intentionally built cabins on higher ground, and we’ve proactively strengthened our emergency protocols across generations.

With the recent passage of legislation such as SB 1, HB 1 and others, Waldemar is moving forward with plans to build new cabins in accordance with the law and will continue to work with the legislature to reach the strongest solution. This transition is an opportunity to carry forward our camp’s legacy of safety and stewardship, ensuring Waldemar remains a place of joy, tradition and sisterhood for the next 100 years.
